UKTSA Scheme Partnership & Accreditations

UKTSA operates in strategic collaboration with Trading Standards authorities, United Knowledge Ltd, and Independence CIC to raise industry standards and enhance consumer confidence nationwide.
Through our partnership with Independence CIC, we connect local communities with thoroughly vetted, qualified trade professionals to safeguard residents and eliminate rogue traders.
In synergy with United Knowledge Ltd, we use:

  • Robust Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)
  • Rigorous ISO-compliant vetting
  • Council-approved compliance frameworks for local authorities.
Together, this joint ecosystem delivers comprehensive compliance monitoring, warranty management, and seamless pathways to national TrustMark registration. This gives reputable businesses the means to thrive while ensuring residents receive transparent, high-quality, and fully protected services.
United Knowledge Ltd

United Knowledge Ltd provides the compliance and vetting infrastructure behind UKTSA's approval process, including Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) administration and ISO-aligned compliance frameworks used by partner local authorities. This includes ongoing verification of insurance, site safety practice, and customer-facing conduct — reviewed on a rolling basis rather than as a one-off check — so the UKTSA badge continues to mean something after a trader is first approved.

Independence CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that works alongside UKTSA to uphold ethical trading standards and reinvest in the communities its partner traders serve. As a CIC, any surplus generated through the partnership is directed back into community-focused initiatives rather than private profit, giving UKTSA's approval scheme independent, not-for-profit overview.

CETA provides CPD courses for retrofit companies that install and extract cavity wall insulation, or trades who want to upgrade their skills to offer this service safely and be able to diagnose potential problems related to cavity wall insulation, such as damp and mould.

The organisation also provides courses for Home Improvement companies, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, assessors, surveyors and office staff who deal with related paperwork.

Neil Whitfield at CETA has a close relationship with the Energy Efficiency Association and serves as a judge for their national awards.
